Casino Laws
Online casino laws have been changing constantly throughout Europe in recent years with both Italy and Germany going all totalitarian and banning everything, with France looking at following suit will the UK buckle to the building pressure, well hopefully not, I like most of you enjoy my online gambling and it seems that the only reason for denouncing it is that online gambling is hard to tax. It seems that these constant blows aren’t really hurting the online casinos in a drastic manner. With the recession and with an already loyal customer base it is no wonder that many online casinos are still going from strength to strength with people finding ways round these so called bans on online gambling.
The battle to save online casinos was long lost in America and Russia and there is little to no hope of them returning to the fold of the pro gambling countries. This is a shame, although France looks more likely to regulate sports betting provided by non French companies than anything else. It say that in 2012 it will take steps to implement restrictions on foreign companies supplying this service.
And UK politicians are set to impose higher taxes on online casinos in 2011 in a vain attempt to try and save the UK’s floundering service industry, which of course the government is partially responsible for destroying by imposing higher taxes and the notorious smoking ban. Whereas casinos haven’t been hit anywhere near as hard as bingo halls and pubs by the smoking ban it still is a serious concern.
